Manoj Singh

Manoj has over 17 years of leadership experience in commercializing clean technologies in North America and South Asia. His most recent assignment, as Senior Director for market and partnership development, was to commercialize Westport technologies in South Asian markets and establish Westport’s India office. Manoj has also held senior leadership positions at Tata Motors and Magenn Power. His expertise includes technology commercialization, market and partnership development, product development, project management and supply chain management. 

Manoj holds an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of British Columbia and a Masters in Technology from the Indian Institute of Technology.

 

 
 

Fariborz Taghipour

Fariborz is a Professor in Chemical and Biological Engineering Department at the University of British Columbia. He has over 15 years of experience in industry and academia in the development of UV reactors. Fariborz is currently leading a research program on the development of UV-LED photoreactors for water purification.

 

 
 

Jennifer Thompson

Jennifer is an active angel investor and start-up mentor. She has spent much of her career establishing or growing both private and publicly-traded technology companies in Vancouver (Enterra Feed, EnWave Corp, Westport Innovations, Facet Decision Systems). As an Entrepreneur-in-Residence at e@UBC she developed a formal methodology for venture building and is now deploying that as a mentor to applied science companies, a number of which were on the NVBC top 25 list for 2016.

 

 
 

Todd Farrell

Todd has over 20 years of experience as an entrepreneur & venture capitalist with Vancity Community Capital, Growth Works Capital & New Ventures BC. He is currently the President of entrepreneurship@UBC, a strategic initiative to encourage and support the creation of new and innovative companies at the University of British Columbia.

 

 
 

John Rose

John has a wealth of experience from his 16 years at Nuheat Industries, where he served as President and CEO until the successful acquisition of the business by Pentair. In addition to Acuva, John serves on the boards of Precision Mounting Technologies, Mormak Manufacturing Inc., and Frost Fighters. He is also an investor, advisor, and mentor to emerging businesses. 

 

 
 

Mike Walsh

Mike is Executive VP – Business Development with Ardenton Capital Corporation, a Vancouver-based private equity group.  Ardenton is a small business private equity firm dedicated to transforming local and regional companies into powerful multi-national organizations.

Prior to joining Ardenton, Mike served for over 18 years as the Chief Financial Officer for Burnaby-based Creation Technologies.  Creation’s business is to build other companies’ electronics products for them, including products ranging from computers to military defence products to medical, dental, laboratory devices to wireless parking meters and coin and currency counting machines.  Creation has grown into the 25th largest outsource electronics manufacturer in the world, with over 3,000 employees operating 10 manufacturing facilities in four different countries and generating revenues of over $800 million a year.

Anupam Agrawal

Anupam is an associate professor at Texas A&M University and a recognized expert in the area of supply chain management. He has significant knowledge and experience in procurement, supplier development and new product development through his work with ITW Signode Inc, Procter & Gamble and Tata Motors. In addition to his work as a professor, he currently acts as an advisor to a number of startups and to the Government of India.
