Job Description:

Acuva has developed breakthrough UV-LED water purifiers for a variety of markets and is looking to expand early success in North American markets to Asia and Europe. This position will be responsible for leading the development of key markets in Asia, primarily China. The Regional Manager/Director of Sales will be expected to meet and encouraged to exceed aggressive sales goals. This is an individual contributor role for a high-performing, strategic thinker who reveals in rolling up their sleeves to get the job done and grow with the company. This exciting new role will provide the candidate with the opportunity to build effective sales strategies from the ground up. This position relies on broad experience and judgment to plan and accomplish sales goals. Candidates presently residing in China or Taiwan are strongly encouraged to apply.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create and execute sales strategies, drive profitable sales growth, primarily in China, manage, monitor, and control the entire sales process life cycle from leads to closing.

  • Lead go-to-market planning, identify viable leads, manage prospects, build a sustainable pipeline to increase sales, and acquire new and profitable business to meet and exceed established sales goals.

  • Deliver effective presentations and demos at the executive level to gain customer engagement.

  • Develop relationships with executives and decision makers to understand key applications and generate customer driven product requirements, offer recommendations and solutions, and complete sales, including negotiation to a fully executed final purchase order.

  • Maintain thorough, up-to-date knowledge of the products, address customer’s technology needs by aligning Acuva products with their requirements.

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to scope, quote, project management, and ensure product delivery.

  • Understand the dynamics of the region, evaluate market conditions and the competitive landscape, recommend opportunities to grow the business in attractive markets.

  • Provide the highest level of customer service to close out customer issues, including product troubleshooting and payment, develop long term relationships with customers.

  • Coordinate with cross functional teams to assist in the resolution of product quality concerns and put appropriate corrective actions in place to prevent repeat customer issues.

  • Build relationships and increase Acuva visibility through participation in various activities including attending trade shows, conference, conventions, and other networking opportunities.

  • Must maintain strong communications with head office, provide regular update, report on progress and results, provide input on sales forecasts, manage and report on the budget for your region.

  • Significant travel within China/Asia is required.


Education & Experience:

  • Must be fluent in English and Mandarin, Cantonese is a strong plus.

  • Well traveled, must have strong sales experience in China/Asia, able to generate new sales revenues for the region independently.

  • Proven track record of meeting aggressive sales goals, developing and promoting new business opportunities, and inspiring top-notch customer service.

  • Experience in the water purification market is highly desirable.

  • Business degree with a minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in sales and/or business development.

  • Experience working in a fast-paced start-up environment and ability to balance multiple, competing priorities and deadlines.


  • Aggressive, self-starter, results oriented with strong prospect hunting expertise.

  • “Out of the box thinker.” Willing to take innovative risk, recalibrate based on market feedback and iterate quickly when developing new sales strategies.

  • Has the elasticity to develop strategic plans and tactically execute them.
